Appalachian Technology Education student elect National TECA President Elect

Brittany Hensley, a freshman at Appalachian State University and technology education major, has been elected President-Elect of the Technology Education Collegiate Association (TECA).  She will serve as President-Elect during the 2007-2008 school year and President during the 2008-2009 school year.  This is the first national officer for the technology education program.  We are all extremely proud of Brittany and her opportunity to represent the Technology Education program, the Department of Technology and Appalachian State University. 

Appalachian Technology Education students win 3rd place in the Instructional Module Contest at the TECA Eastern Region Conference at Virginia Beach.

Kara Adams and LaChanda Broome, technology education majors, won 3rd place in the Instructional Modules contest at the 2007 and 2008 TECA Eastern Region Conference in Virginia. Eleven students from the technology education program represented Appalachian at each of these conferences.

Technology Education Advisory Board Inforamtion

The Technology Education Program held its third advisory board meeting October, 2007. John Grice from Avery County Schools will serve as the chairperson of the Advisory Board. Brian Moye from the Department of Public Instruction will serve as the co-chairperson of this Board. 

Appalachian Technology Education students win 3rd place in Technology Challenge at the TECA National Conference in Baltimore.

Luke Eggers and Jay Trumbower, technology education majors, won 3rd place in the Technology Challenge at the 2006 TECA National Conference in Baltimore. Sixteen teams from across the country competed in this competition. The conference is held in conjunction with the ITEA National Conference. Rick Mitts also received the Donald Maley Spirit of Excellence Outstanding Graduate Student Citation.

Teacher Education Loan Program
